"Reproductive Hormones, the Cardioascular System, and Exercise Science"
Reproductive hormones such as estrogens, progrestins and androgens may influence the physiological function of non-reproductive organs and tissues. Estrogen, in particular, has been extensively studied due to its proposed "cardioprotective effect" believed to reduce the incidence of hypertension and other forms of cardioascular disease in pre-menopausal women. |
