| The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group today announced the line-up for the Mount Vernon Chocolate Stroll taking place Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual festival utilizes local businesses to create a chocolate-lover’s paradise along Mount Vernon’s historic Main Street District.
Guests are invited to begin the stroll at either the First Street Community Center (221 First St. East), or at Memorial Park (311 First St. West), where both musicians and chocolate vendors will be located, and stroll down the street in either direction, sampling chocolates at businesses and storefronts along the way.
“We have definitely upped our game this year,” said Chocolate Stroll Committee Chair Trude Elliott. “Not only are we offering more chocolate vendors in more storefronts along Mount Vernon’s Main Street, but we also are offering street performers throughout the day, as well as returning headliners the Eddie Piccard Jazz Quartet and The Eastern Iowa Brass Band.”
More than 20 local and regional chocolate vendors are scheduled to take part in the event, including The Bakery, Barb’s Garden and Pantry, Chef Jenn’s’ Kitchen, Corridor Cake Bites, Divine Decadents, Kalona Chocolates, May’s 3rd Street Bakery, Mount Vernon Confections, Polar Blair’s Den, Sweet Lauretta’s Fine English Toffee, Sweetopia and The Wright Touch Bake Shoppe.
