Mount Vernon and Lisbon children invited to Annual Easter Egg hunt
MOUNT VERNON and LISBON, Iowa – Mount Vernon and Lisbon children are invited to take part in the annual Mount Vernon-Lisbon Easter Egg hunt Saturday, April 23, beginning promptly at 10 a.m. at the First Street Community Center, 221 First St. NE, Mount Vernon.

This year’s event will be co-sponsored by the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group and the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Club. More than 200 children are expected to show up on the Saturday before Easter to celebrate.

“This event has had several organizers and sponsors over the years,” said Alison Dix, Co-Chair of the event. “We are thrilled that this year we are able to bring together The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Club and the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group, two wonderful volunteer nonprofits as co-sponsors.”

Organizers will have more than 3,000 plastic eggs on hand stuffed with candy and prizes. Children will be divided into three categories based on age:

Aged 0-2 years

Ages 3-5

Ages 6 and up

The event is expected to take place outside on the football field behind the Community Center. In case of rain, the event will take place inside the First Street Community Center gymnasium.

Questions can be directed to Alison Dix at (319) 573-4801.
