About the Playground
A bond issue approved by the Mount Vernon Community School District voters in 2004 committed $100,000 to the project. Washington Elementary Teachers and Parents Association (WETAP) raised more than $60,000 from a wide variety of fund raising activities, and were able to secure $29,000 in grants.
The playground serves as a recreation destination for more than 400 families in the elementary school as well as hundreds of families living in surrounding areas. Located at Mount Vernon Washington Elementary School.
