Touted as one of the most unique events around, Chalk the Walk is an interactive art festival where artists use pastels to create vivid, distinctive art on the pavement. It is based upon an original art form called “Madonnari,” which began in Italy in the 16th century. The two-day event is free and open to the public.

Chalk the Walk will take place on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 from 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. in downtown Mount Vernon.
