The festivities kick off on Thursday, July 12 at Hillcrest Country Club with Family Night and Fireworks. Children can participate in the Mini Olympics at 5:30 p.m. From 6– 9 p.m. there will be family activities, food and beverages. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the best seats in the house for the Heritage Days Fireworks display, beginning at dark.

On Friday, July 13, the Main Street Stage, food vendors and midway rides will open at noon. Golfers can hit the links at Hillcrest Country Club with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the Heritage Days 3-Person Best Shot Golf Tournament.Children can participate in the Kids’ Fun Run (Children 10 & under) at the Middle School track (615 5th Avenue South); registration begins at 6:00 p.m. Adults will enjoy the Main Stage band “Three Musicians and Drummer” and beer tent from 9 p.m. – midnight.

Activity galore is planned for Saturday, July 14. The 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Cornell Sports Center (register in advance or on site at 7:00 a.m.). From 9 a.m. – 3p.m., vintage car enthusiasts can visit the Car Show on First Street East. For bikers, there is a bike ride beginning at 10a.m. that will travel from uptown Mount Vernon to Springville, Waubeek and back. Art lovers can visit Art in the Park (Memorial Park, 311 First Street NW), a juried art show from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The Heritage Days Parade, traveling along First Street West in front of Cornell College, begins at 11a.m. Food vendors will be set up from 10 am. – 10 p.m., while midway rides and the Main Street Stage open at 12noon.  "The Large Midgets" will perform from 9 – 12 p.m. on the Main Street Stage.
