Constructed in 2005 with the help of over 250 dedicated volunteers, the Mount Vernon Washington Elementary Playground offers youngsters a wide variety of fun, modern play equipment.  Highlights include a rock climbing wall, large tube slides, climbers, spinners and swings, all built with safety in mind.  Students actually got to pick the colors for the playground equipment.  For the younger children there are teeter-todders and monkey bars designed just for them.

Local residents built park benches and small play houses that are conveniently placed around the play equipment so the whole family can relax and enjoy this open, friendly play area.
